Equipment

All participants must have their own gum shield, shin pads and hockey stick at each session. Hockey sticks should be clearly labelled with the owner’s name. Participants must have shin pads on prior to entering the pitch area. No kit bags will be permitted in the pitch area. Water bottles are encouraged but again must be clearly labelled with the participant’s name. 

 

Session Times

Session times are every Sunday and as below times:

 

  • 10.45-11.45am 5th class girls, 6th class girls
  • 12pm-12.45pm Junior & Senior infant girls
  • 12pm-1pm 1st & 2nd class girls, 3rd & 4th class girls
  • 1pm-1.45pm  Junior & Senior infant boys
  • 1pm-2pm 5th & 6th class boys, 1st-4th class boys

Online Registration & Payment

Registration is now open for the Youth section via the club’s website registration page. Participants must be registered in order to attend a Youth training session.

Fees

1st Child – €125

2nd and subsequent children – €100 each

Please note that when completing registration; only click ‘Yes’ to “Have you already registered a Youth Member” if you have filled out this form and paid for a child already. This should be clicked ‘No’ if you have only “pre-registered” your child or not filled any prior form out/made payment.

Calling Parents For Help

We encourage parents of Junior hockey players to get involved during your child’s Sunday morning training session.

Volunteers are vital to ensure the safe running of each session. Parent volunteers assist can with the following tasks:

  • Marking an attendance roll
  • Encouraging the players in a basic warm up routine. 
  • Assisting the lead coach in following a simple coaching plan.
  • Setting up and tidying away equipment for drills.
  • Oversee the collection of each participant at the end of the session

If you are willing to help out with this role can you please email junior@clontarfhc.com with your name, your child’s name and age group.

All volunteers will be Garda vetted and will complete a short Safeguarding workshop with Sport Ireland.

Designated Liaison Person

The Designated Liaison Person (DLP) is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse and welfare issues to the Statutory Authorities. The DLP will be a source of information and guidance to anyone in Clontarf Hockey Club who has a child protection/welfare concern.

Club Children’s Officer

The Club Children’s Officer will assist in promoting a child and youth centred ethos in Clontarf Hockey Club. In their work, the Club Children’s Officer will be the link between the children/young people and the adults within the club. The key role of the Club Children’s Officer is to ensure the implementation and promotion of the relevant Child Welfare, Protection Codes and Guidelines for good practice in the Club, to ensure that young people can participate, enjoy and benefit from hockey in safe and enjoyable surroundings. They oversee the implementation of Garda Vetting checks, as appropriate, within Clontarf Hockey Club.
