Coming off a loss against league leaders Kilkenny, the Ladies 2s were ready for a win, even with warnings of the notorious Storm Brian. With the countless injuries we were dealing with at the moment we were delighted with the cover from Sorcha and Sadbh on their week off!

We started the first half strong with plenty of chances, but we couldn’t seem to put one away, but some good saves from Anna kept the score at nil all. A short corner on the half time whistle would change that when Sorcha put it away after it rebounded off the keeper!

After regrouping and some wise words from our ‘awfully loud’ coach, Bobbo, we were sure we’d put a few more chances away. Monkstown started the second half with a new energy and a new formation up front which caused a goal to be scored and sheepishly given by their umpire after some questioning from Clontarf.

Final whistle and, even after a Monkstown green card, from a well dressed Ciara Byrne a draw was all we were to get. One point is better than no points and we know what we need to work on for our game in Wexford next weekend!

Thanks again, to Sorcha and Sadbh and to Ciara for umpiring and well done Anna on Man of the Match!
